Why 2 counters you may be asking

The one on the right is a Standard Internet Counter (The higher count)

It can be fooled if you go into a page and return to the homepage it may bump up 1

Also if you click refresh on the main page it will bump

If I visit my own page to check it's working it will bump

The counter on the left is intelligent.

When you visit it stores the IP address of the person visiting.

The count is only bumped when a different IP address visits.

Only the last IP address to visit is stored.

If I visit it knows it's me so excludes me from bumping my own counter

Unfortunately if someone visits from a Cybercafe

or from behind a proxy server or router running NAT

several PC's can visit and appear as 1 visitor only

So the left hand counter (Smaller) atttempts to give

a more accurate reflection of the true number of visitors
