Outstanding Bugs/feature missing list for 10.01

MP3 Related Problems

Some people have reported Popping Noises or blip blop noises with MP3 playback

If Number of folders on Left is such that moving downwards scrolls list then
sound will pause until screen is refreshed

Random track playback feature has been removed

DVD-Audio support still not included

Stuttering effect when playing SVCD's (confirmed by Dragonsf)

Other Problems

No Permanent way known to remove Macrovision

DVD REV under Hidden 1999 system menu no longer shows Drive Firmware
When fixing this bug it might be beneficial for firmware to display model number of drive

If Firmware Update is loaded and machine is left at
Press enter to upgrade or File Corrupt Message
so that screen saver appears - the small bouncing image is corrupt

If Firmware Update is loaded and machine is left at
Press enter to upgrade or File Corrupt Message
and setup button is pressed then background splash screen looks
similar to dragonsf example picture here

Within Hidden 1999 System Menu
Incorrect Spelling 'PATENAL PWD' should be
PATERNAL PWD or PARENTAL PWD

On occasion unit will power on with just a black screen i.e. no video

On occasion unit will power on with no life at all - no standby LED

Ulead DVD Picture Show slide show CDs
with more than about 20 images don't load
(Not sure of the exact number of images that leads to this problem).

4:3 PS mode does not work correctly - you still get the image in a letterbox.

If zoom is on and track is set to repeat - when track starts again zoom is cancelled.
Also sometimes cancels in a strange manner on its own

Various Others

Corrected in 10.01

With the 3358 hack the spelling mistake of manufacture has been corrected.
Message now says
'Manufacturer Setting - region code xx'
where region code xx is that which was selected

Problem with MP3 playback missing first 2 seconds has been resolved.

Subtitle problem corrected

Wish List for Next Firmware

In addition to fixing the bugs listed above we would like the following added

(The CH302 should also be brought into line)

Remaining countdown time (disk/track/song whatever) either on screen or LCD or both

Settable Screen Saver time (With option of disabling it)

Auto standby after pre-determined idleness (Again with option of disabling it)

Adjustable Volume Control using Up/Down arrows while video is playing for Instance

ID3 filename support for MP3

Picture centering function using arrow keys.

Layer Change Test

Some Players give a menu similar to the 10.01 MP3 player for MPG or JPG's just stored in the root of a CD
so a similar menu would be nice

A method of reprogramming Splash screen independantly of actual firmware program version

Possibly a way of altering brightness/contrast/saturation/hue/colour whatever to our personal tastes.

A method of changing brightness of flourescent display

Firmware upgrade procedure should give some sort of progress indication
either on the display or on the Flourescent Display
i.e. a number counting upwards/downwards
or an upgrade complete message perhaps or both.
